Airil Haimi Mohd Adnan
| Profile: Hello there and salam sejahtera from Malaysia! I am Airil but my students call me Teech (not Teeth, mind you). I am a Lecturer at one of the public universities in Malaysia and I have taught English both here and in England where I spent nearly a decade of my life (imagine that). In England, I studied at Henley College in Coventry, the University of Warwick in Coventry and also the University of Leicester where I obtained my MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL. I am now on study leave in New Zealand for my doctorate. I have written a couple of books, book chapters and journal articles and I have columns in a few local mags. Also did some work for television and radio - in English of course and also the national language Bahasa Malaysia. I have not been presenting my research for a few years now though and am just coming back on to the conference circuit. I am very much interested in research collaborations and other types of academic networking - especially in the areas of language and identity construction, narrative inquiry, language choice and use, professional communication, and all subjects relating to TESOL in the South East Asian context.
