Profile: I have been a senior lecturer at Waikato University since 1995. Before that I worked in the UK, Europe and the Middle East in various ELT positions - language teacher and teacher developer, Director of Studies, school inspector, English Language Adviser to Ministries of Education, and ELT curriculum designer. I am fortunate to travel frequently to attend conferences and provide consultancy services, and now spend a lot of time in Asian countries. I publish frequently and my active research interests focus on the 'languacultural' acqusition of second language learners from primary school through to university.
