Profile: I am an author, teacher trainer and chief examiner with more than 30 years experience in the field of English language teaching. Since graduating in 1975, I have worked in different educational roles. I began as a volunteer teacher in Egypt, providing English courses for students for academic purposes. After completing a Diploma in English Language Teaching and an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Reading, I went on to work in Thailand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the United Kingdom in a number of different roles and contexts: at school, college and university level, in British Council teaching operations, as a teacher trainer and with curriculum development projects with Ministries of Education. Since 1998, I have been a full-time materials writer, assessor and EFL consultant. I have published textbooks, Teacher’s books and Test books for Pearson Education/Longman, Macmillan and Marshall Cavendish. I have a wide range of interests as shown above and I am also interested in writing stories for first language speakers.
